Flourishing in Retirement

How to live fully, fruitfully, and joyfully in the season of retirement

Yes, you can flourish in retirement. You can live fully and joyfully in this season of life!

Whether you've been retired for years or are making plans to retire before too long, there's no doubt that you'd like to flourish in retirement. You want to live well, enjoying freedom from regular work while still investing your life in people and things that matter. You probably know folks who are doing great in retirement as well as those who aren't doing so well. You wonder how you can be part of the "doing great" group.

You may also wonder about God's perspective on retirement. Perhaps you've heard it said that "retirement is not in the Bible." Whether this is literally true or not, in fact Scripture has much wisdom to offer that is relevant for the season of life we call retirement.

In addition to biblical teachings, you can learn a great deal from contemporary research on retirement. Psychologists, gerontologists, sociologists, and neuroscientists have much to teach us about how to thrive when we are no longer working full-time.

"Flourishing in Retirement" is a course designed to do what the name suggests: help you flourish in retirement. This four-week course has been designed and will be taught by Dr. Mark Roberts, a Senior Fellow of Fuller Seminary's Max De Pree Center for Leadership.
